Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMD)

TMD is often associated with postural dysfunction and accompanied by neck pain and headaches, and can present as a single symptom or cluster of symptoms including:

- Jaw pain during eating, prolonged postural tasks, speaking, etc
- Clicking sensation or deviation of the mandible during opening
- Fascial pain, tenderness through muscles of mastication
- Tinnitus or ear ache

Zone physiotherapist Colin Dyck brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this area. TMD often responds well to conservative management strategies such as education around postural changes, manual therapy focused on the TMJ/cervical spine, and home based programming for strengthening and mobility of the involved musculature/joints.
